Reitz Union 361-363
Join the Student Affairs SEED Committee and the Career Resource Center for a presentation by Farouk Dey, director of the Career & Professional Development Center Carnegie Mellon University.
Although the study of college student development has progressed during the last decades to address various aspects of identity development across a wide range of diverse populations, there is a noticeable gap in the literature about Muslim-American college students and how the university experience impacts their development as young adults.
The presentation will highlight findings from a qualitative study that identified salient identity dimensions, contextual influences, and emerging stages of identity development for Muslim-American college students. Recommendations for best practice, policies, and further research will be shared.
