Student Affairs Awards Application Cycles
Students should be aware of the general planned deadlines for recognitions of students through the Division of Student Affairs. To read more about the criteria for each award, please visit the specific website. The specific deadlines will be posted and advertised on the website of the Vice President for Student Affairs for each cycle, but the following information should assist students:
Josephine West Scholarship application: West Scholarship applications are due in November and students are notified in December of their selection to the West Scholarship Program.
Reitz Scholars: Reitz Scholars applications are due in February and students are notified in April of their selection to the Reitz Scholars Program.
Hall of Fame: Hall of Fame applications are due in February and students are notified in April of their selection to the Hall of Fame.
Jack Kinzer Award: The Kinzer award selection by the Division of Student Affairs is announced each September at the Division's annual kickoff. There is no application process.
University of Florida Hall of Fame
Recognizes seniors and graduate and professional students who have consistently demonstrated an outstanding commitment to improving UF through campus and community involvement, participation in organized campus activities, and scholastic achievement. Deadline to apply Friday February 22, 2008.
Josephine West Memorial Scholarship
Provides a $1,000 scholarship to an undergraduate female student who reflects the values for which Josephine West stood: academic excellence, service to others, and a love of learning.
Jack Kinzer Award
Awarded to a student that has demonstrated outstanding service to, and leadership in, student affairs at UF.
J. Wayne Reitz Undergraduate Scholars Program
Recognizes and encourages outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and service among undergraduate students at UF. Reitz Scholars are selected during the spring semester of each academic year and receive an annual scholarship of $2,500.
