The Josephine A. West Memorial Service Scholarship provides an annual grant of $1,000 to an outstanding undergraduate female student at the University of Florida. It was established by the Office of Student Affairs in 1985 after her untimely passing, in memory of her fine contributions to the University. Funds for this scholarship are provided by private donations, and the award is presented in the fall.
Mrs. West was a person who loved to serve others in any way she could to further their educational progress and accomplish their career goals. She was an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to be beneficiaries of her exceptionally skilled assistance as a resource person in the Division of Student Affairs.
