Crisis Response Team

The Crisis Response Team (CRT) (previously known as the Trauma Response Team) functioned for more than 20 years as the primary response to crises affecting students. The CRT is a multidisciplinary group with membership from across campus and community agencies which interface with students during times of crisis. Beyond the DSO, CWC, HRE, and UFPD, the group includes, for example, Campus Ministries, International Center, Alachua County Crisis Center, Student Activities, and Santa Fe College. CRT members may respond when a traumatic incident affects the campus community. The monthly CRT meetings provide a forum for coordination and communication among these diverse agencies. In addition to reviewing response to critical incidents, there is discussion about campus quality of life issues. Another important function of the CRT is providing skills training to professional staff and the larger campus.
